Getting Ready for Paradise: Packing & Prepping for My Margaritaville at Sea Cruise!

Ahoy, fellow cruise lovers! The countdown is on, and my boyfriend and I are gearing up for an unforgettable adventure aboard the Margaritaville at Sea Islander! On February 1, 2025, we’ll be setting sail on a 5-night cruise to Progreso and Cozumel, departing from Tampa, FL. With our Breezy Balcony Stateroom and an 11:00 AM boarding time, we are beyond excited for this tropical escape.

If you’ve been dreaming about cruising, this is your sign to start planning! In this post, I’ll share how I’m packing and preparing for our trip, plus some pro tips to make your cruise experience seamless. And of course, if you have any questions or want to book your next adventure, I’d love to help!

Packing Like a Pro: Essentials for a Tropical Cruise

Packing for a cruise is an art! I like to keep things organized, stylish, and practical. Here’s what’s making it into my suitcase:

Cruise Documents & Essentials: Passport, boarding pass, travel insurance, and printed itinerary. I always pack these in a waterproof pouch to keep them safe.

Tropical Outfits: Flowing sundresses, comfy shorts, breathable tank tops, and a few Caribbean-inspired outfits for those island excursions. I also pack a lightweight jacket for breezy nights on the balcony.

Swimwear & Cover-Ups: You can never have too many swimsuits! I’m bringing at least three along with stylish cover-ups for lounging by the pool or hitting the beach in Cozumel and Progreso.

Footwear: Flip-flops for the pool, comfy sneakers for walking tours, and a pair of dressy sandals for evenings on board.

Toiletries & Sunscreen: Cruise ships provide basics, but I like my favorites. Reef-safe sunscreen, after-sun lotion, lip balm with SPF, and a travel-sized perfume are must-haves.

Accessories & Fun Extras: Sunglasses, a sun hat, waterproof phone case, a portable fan, and a dry bag for beach excursions. And let’s not forget a few festive outfits dancing the night away!

Tech & Entertainment: Phone chargers, earbuds, and a compact extension chord!

Cruise Prep: Checking Off the To-Do List

With departure day fast approaching, I’m ensuring all my pre-cruise preparations are done so I can enjoy a stress-free vacation. Here’s what I’ve tackled:
